A man in California was doing yard work when he noticed a plane circling above his house. Thinking nothing of it, he continued working — all the way up until the moment the plane crashed right into his house, a move that caused the house to burn down.

Yeah, for reasons we still don’t know, the plane, which had a pilot, a passenger and a dog, suddenly plummeted into the house, killing every living being on-board while setting the man’s house alight.

Thinking quickly, the man was at least able to save his wife and his own dog. Here’s a video taken from security footage of the crash:
